Pepperdine Waves Men’s Basketball Partnership Kickoff In Malibu

December 6th, 2018 by

Just over the “hill” from Mercedes-Benz of Thousand Oaks in Malibu, CA, Pepperdine University occupies one of the most picturesque campuses in the entire United States. In addition to being on the route of one of our favorite local drives, the Pepperdine men’s basketball team is a force to be reckoned with in the NCAA West Coast Conference which also includes heavyweights Loyola Marymount University, and Gonzaga University in Washington state. Being the local powerhouse that it is, Mercedes-Benz of Thousand Oaks has partnered with Pepperdine Athletics to offer three lucky basketball fans the chance to compete for a Mercedes-Benz lease!

To kick off our partnership for the 2018-2019 men’s basketball season, Mercedes-Benz of Thousand Oaks’ Sales Manager, Paul Turner, brought two gorgeous cars out to Firestone Fieldhouse for family, friends, staff, students and athletes to experience on campus.

The 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLA 250 is the brand’s entry-level, compact SUV. The vehicle is a very popular choice for people looking for a little extra ground clearance and rugged capability in a package that’s convenient for city life.

The compact SUV starts at $33,950 for 2019, and the example that Paul brought out was adorned in Mountain Grey Metallic paint and featured the college-student favorites, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration. Additionally, the car featured blind spot assist and the convenience package which adds a garage door opener and self-dimming mirrors. All in all, the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLA 250 SUV is a great value for safety and practicality.

The other car that was on display was the stunning 2019 Mercedes-Benz E 450 Cabriolet. Updated for 2019, the new model replaces the E 400 and upgrades the engine to the twin-turbo V6 that puts out 362 horsepower. A fantastic combination of power and elegance, the E-Class cabriolet is arguably the perfect car for southern California, regardless of the season.

This example, finished in the timeless and stylish Polar White, also features the legendary illuminated star across the front grille, giving this convertible unprecedented road presence and class.

Of course, the real showstopper with the new E-Class is the interior, and the cabriolet puts the artistry of the passenger cabin on full display. With dual LED screens for both the gauge cluster and infotainment systems, along with the 64-color ambient lighting, there’s no denying the E-Class provides a positively sensual experience from the cockpit.

Indeed the display of luxury Mercedes-Benz vehicles on Pepperdine’s Malibu campus was so alluring, even Pepperdine Athletic Director, Steve Potts, came out to experience the Mercedes-Benz of Thousand Oaks difference.

“Boy, I sure do love seeing these nice cars out here!”

Keep your eyes peeled for more Mercedes-Benz vehicles at Pepperdine’s home games in Malibu for the 2018-2019 men’s basketball season. If we continue to receive such warm welcomes, we may just open up a car dealership on campus.
