Open House with Aviara Real Estate and AMG® Thousand Oaks
Sherwood Country Club is an exclusive enclave ensconced around Lake Sherwood in Thousand Oaks, California. Home to high-powered executives and notable celebrities including Wayne Gretzky the late Tom Petty, the community got its so-called big break in 1921 when it was used as the backdrop for the classic Douglas Fairbanks film, Robin Hood. In addition to its Jack Nicklaus-designed, 18-hole professional golf course, the community is also known for its grand estates.
Danny Chhan and Keli Dahl of Aviara Real Estate recently unveiled a newly-built 5,000 square foot estate and AMG® Thousand Oaks was delighted to help add some horsepower to their showcase property.
Built new from the ground up within the gates of Sherwood Country Club, the house features 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms and sits on a hillside lot measuring over 17,000 square feet.
With its modern amenities and accoutrements such as a 500-bottle wine cellar and digital command center, the home features two living areas, one upstairs and one down.
Italian concrete tile adorns most of the bathrooms, including the secondary master with its floor-to-ceiling shower and skylight that brings the outdoors in.
While this house is simply stunning inside and out, this is indeed supposed to be a car-focused blog, so in that regard we’ve saved the best for last.
You see, despite its rather unassuming front facade, this house actually has a four-car garage that’s roughly the size of a professional racquetball court.
Our 2018 Mercedes-AMG® S 63 4MATIC®+ sedan in emerald green metallic fit perfectly alongside the 2018 Mercedes-AMG® GT C cabriolet in solarbeam yellow (even at an angle). Somewhat surprisingly, the 2018 Mercedes-AMG® GLS 63 4MATIC® was a huge hit with the real estate crowd. Perhaps it’s the versatility of seven-passenger seating combined with the clobbering 577-horsepower 5.5-liter V8 Biturbo motor that got their wheels spinning.
So, all in all, you have a beautifully-grand home that lives indoor and outdoor simultaneously, and a garage built for real gearheads. What more could you want? Well, maybe a couple of lifts in that garage, right?
